Known for your strong spirit
and ambition
Feared for your extreme determination
and passion
I fear not but for your same old story
You are not yet ready
though you say you are.
The change you seek is far from division,
it’s far from strife.
The change you speak to attain
is not yet scenting from afar like
“Mama Jollof Rice Delicacies”
The old fire wood still burns
without new supplies.
The wine bottle has not yet been washed from the outside.
The shoe still smells even when polished on the outside
for when placed on the sun to dry
more than the nose can smell shall be revealed.
“In the place where a tree falleth there it shall be”
You are not a tree!
Change will not come to you
You-go-get-it.
And it will not be seen from our lips,
but in our steps,
deliberately,–unbendable.
Hands must clenched in formidable unity,
hands as though they were cut with a knife
before they merged in agreement.
And before a smirk falls to the ground
the price for change should strip itself naked and speak the truth
in the court of our heart
“Nothing but the truth”
For i am with an unseen evidence
that the change we hope for
is in a revival.
Beyond the possible,
it’s beyond the visible.
A spiritual awakening is needed.
A good knife tells the butter:
Come let me hide you in the bread
so you don’t melt away.
You don’t pay for a spoon u need not
and borrow the knife that you need
Nigeria!
Known as a fertile ground…
I’ve been seeking
for what is missing
as i write
for your right.
Here it goes:
If your very life you see
before your very own eyes
was not made from
things which do appear;
Then this unseen evidence
that the world emerged from;
This spiritual revival
is the reality we live in.
Stop asking me questions.
Ask history!
Learn from the old eagle
and not the old parrot:
One knows the ways of the wind
And as the popular saying goes
that “the walls do have ears”
The other know not more than this.
