Reclaimed materials often possess unique textures, histories, and vulnerabilities. Some surfaces scratch easily. Others react to humidity, sunlight, or repeated handling. Finishing methods are therefore not intended to hide these qualities but to preserve them, allowing the artwork to remain both visually compelling and structurally sound over time.
